V. Soler: «The political debate on financing will begin in September»

«Today the minister's commitment to begin political work for the reform of the financing system has materialized. We are 6 years late, in which the political debate had not started. "Now we know that we will do it starting in September."  These were the optimistic words of  Vicent Soler , Minister of Finance, after the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council held this morning in Madrid, where the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero , met with representatives of the Autonomous Communities to give one more step towards the reform of the financing system.

The minister, for her part, has shown her support for the autonomies and has assured Email Data that the Government is open to all types of negotiations that comply with the legal framework imposed by Brussels and bring about an improvement for all citizens. "We have shared with the CCAA our commitment to working with all administrations in the preparation of the budgets for 2019. The Government does not stop and remains committed to improving financing . "




Regarding the debt relief demanded by the Comunitat, Soler has clarified that "we are going to pay the debt due to the bad government of our predecessors religiously, but not the debt produced by underfinancing . " The councilor has reiterated once again that the lack of financing hinders the social services of all Valencian citizens and prevents the fulfillment of equity and sufficiency. «The Community has never spent more than the average and yet we have accumulated a debt of 45,000 million. The only way to be fair to the future is to be fair to the past ," he concluded.
